About The CSA

Join the Summer CSA

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a subscription-based way to gain direct access to our farm! As a member of the CSA, you receive your share of the farm’s harvest each week and reap the benefits of eating fresh produce all year long!

Our CSA program is designed to give you and your family direct access to delicious produce each week. We offer a ‘zero-contact’ CSA pick-up location at the farm. You can rest assured that your farmers are the only people who ever handle, wash, and pack your produce.

The Pink Barn CSA runs year-round and features the best organic goodness of all four seasons!

We offer four seasons to join our weekly CSA

Winter  January 12 – March 30

Spring  April 6 – June 22

Summer  June 29 – September 14

Fall  September 21 – December 14*

*No pick-up week of Thanksgiving

How does it work?

Each week you will pick up your share of seasonal produce at the farm. You will be emailed a list of that weeks’ vegetables and recipe ideas for the veggies.  The weekly shares contain 8-14 different types of fresh produce, with lighter amounts in the early season and heavier quantities later on in the season.

Every week you will find boxes filled with organic veggies, herbs, fruits, and more! We estimate that our Weekly Shares feed 2-3 adults (or a family of 4).

The majority of items each week are seasonal “kitchen staples”, such as lettuce, greens, onions, carrots, fresh herbs, tomatoes, squash, peppers, and potatoes. We are a diverse farm and always trying new crops –  as CSA members, you get to experience these new and unique vegetables as well!

Where do I pick-up?

At Pink Barn Farm we have an on-farm Zero Contact CSA pick-up. Your CSA shares are packed into a plastic liner bag. Each week, CSA members come to the farm to collect their bag of fresh veggies from the CSA pick-up area. Members should bring a large carton (old laundry basket, rubbermaid bin, cardboard box, etc) to put their produce in.

How much does it cost?

Our Weekly CSA Shares cost $40.00 per week

We offer several payment options for purchasing your CSA Share. Links to purchase are emailed to you upon filling-out the membership form

Joining the CSA is an investment in your share of the harvest that season. We prefer that members pay for the season up-front, if possible. That way we are able to use that money to purchase seeds, irrigation, compost, and amendments for the season. Shareholders help absorb these costs and reap the benefits of their investment as the season goes along.

What to Expect each season

Winter share kicks-off the new year! After the holiday season, this share is a great way to get back into healthy eating and home cooked meals. Weekly Shares are loaded with leafy greens, such as lettuce, spinach, kale, chard, and mustards. This season also features hearty vegetables like cabbage, cauliflower, potatoes, leeks, and winter squash.

Spring As the winter transitions to spring, items such as radishes, cilantro, arugula, fennel, spring onions, and rapini join the share. The Spring Share bounty is great for staying healthy and boosting your immune system during the wet and dark times of year. Late spring treats such as new potatoes, radishes, rainbow chard, salad greens, scallions and green garlic fill the last part of the season.

Summer share is the ‘best of spring’ and the ‘bounty of summer’!  By mid-June, the first summer squash and zucchini arrive, and soon after that it’s tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, cucumbers, and basil more! This is the season for eating outdoors and in good company. Later in the season, we include options for adding-on bulk orders for items like tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers for pickling, freezing, and canning.

Fall share is the main event! The harvest season is in full-swing when the share begins, so expect weekly shares loaded with tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, and squash. As the fall weather creeps in and harvest continues, we begin to see winter squash, potatoes, leeks, cabbage, turnips, radishes, and savory herbs. This share is great for preserving the bounty and kicking your holiday meals into high gear. We take Thanksgiving and Christmas weeks off from pick-up. We do offer add-on “holiday boxes” leading up to those holidays so your pantries are stocked!
